Milan-Cagliari, probable lineups

In the midst of a tight battle for a spot in next season’s Champions League, AC Milan host Cagliari tonight at San Siro with only one result in their mind.

Only three points, there is no other option for AC Milan. Lazio, Roma and Inter have all won so only one victory would help the Rossoneri reclaim the forth spot in the standings. For Gattuso’s side it’s the perfect time to meet Cagliari who have won a single match in their last five games and haven’t tasted victory at San Siro since 1997.

The Rossoneri are in good form and that must continue even tonight at 20:30. For this match, coach Gennaro Gattuso will rely on his usual starting eleven that has performed quite well so far. As always, the spectacular Gigio Donnarumma between the posts. Captain Romagnoli teams up with Musacchio at the center on the defence while Ricardo Rodriguez and Calabria complete the back line. Yet again Rino is not considering handing a first minute debut to Andrea Conti.

Excellent news for AC Milan’s midfield. Lucas Biglia has fully recovered and is part of the 23 man squad list for Milan-Cagliari. The creative 33 year old Argentine returns but it’s too soon to see him from the start. As in recent games, Bakayoko, Kessie and Lucas Paqueta are the three midfielders Rino will choose for this match.

It’s hard to think of changes in attack even though fans are beginning for Calhanoglu to be dropped. Gattuso thinks otherwise and once more blindly hands a starting jersey to the struggling Turkish winger. Suso, who didn’t perform very well against Napoli and Roma, plays on the right in support of Piatek. The Polish striker has been lethal so far.
